Albéa now has an instant extended network of cosmetic packaging manufacturing and decorating sites and an inside source for key information on marketing in China. All are due to Albéa’s recently announced acquisition of Zhongshan Meiquan Plastic Products Co Ltd, which is owned by the TEX R.L. group. Better known under the name TEX China, the company manufactures packaging for the cosmetics and perfumery sectors. Located in Guangdong Province in China, TEX China has 700 employees and three factories specializing in the production of mascara, lipgloss, lipstick, pots and cases. In 2011, the company recorded a turnover of $20 million, of which 80% came from exports. Albéa now operates five production sites throughout China and a sales office in Shanghai.
